Connect content, CRM and follow-up

Based on educational material by Bianca Lincks

Content is easier to justify when it creates a record, a segment or a next action. This workflow connects educational posts, listing content, lead capture and CRM review so marketing does not end at the click.

1. Give each content theme a business purpose

A real estate content plan can include local expertise, buyer education, seller education, property stories, client questions and market explanations. Each theme should connect to a clear next action.

For example, a hypothetical post about moving to Orlando can lead to a relocation checklist, while a seller-pricing post can lead to a valuation request.

2. Capture source and context

When a visitor fills a form, replies to a message or clicks from a campaign, record the content source in the CRM. The team should know what the person saw before the conversation started.

A source label such as “Instagram relocation checklist” gives the next message more context than a generic “new lead.”

3. Match nurture to intent

A person who downloads a guide may need education. A person who asks for a showing may need a fast human handoff. A past client may need relationship-based updates instead of sales pressure.

Follow-up should respect permission, timeline and channel preference. Automation can keep the rhythm, but the message still needs human judgment.

4. Review content inside the sales process

Do not measure content only by likes. Review which posts, pages, emails and newsletters create qualified conversations, appointments or useful replies.

Weekly CRM review should ask: which content sources created opportunities, which leads need a next action and which messages need revision?

Content-to-CRM checklist

  • Content themes tied to next actions
  • Forms and pages capture source
  • CRM segments reflect buyer/seller intent
  • Follow-up matches permission and timeline
  • Human handoff points are clear
  • Weekly review includes content source quality

Can social media be part of CRM follow-up?

Yes. Social conversations and content clicks become more useful when they create context in the CRM.

What should a team review weekly?

Review source quality, unanswered leads, stale opportunities, replies, appointments and follow-up messages that need improvement.
